Escape the Costa del Sol as the sun begins to set and discover El Torcal de Antequera at its most magical moment. The limestone towers turn orange and ochre, the silence deepens and wild mountain goats appear among the rocks. This is no ordinary excursion — this is El Torcal at sunset, just for you and a group of maximum 8 people.
We pick you up in Málaga in a private minibus and take care of everything so you can simply enjoy the experience. Once at El Torcal, we walk together along the Ammonites Route, a spectacular 4.5 km circular trail where the fossils of these Jurassic cephalopods — over 150 million years old — appear in the ground, on the walls, in every stone. Your expert local guide will reveal the geological secrets of the park, help you spot the local wildlife and lead you to the best viewpoint to watch the sunset over the Vega de Antequera. Do I need to be very fit? The route is of medium difficulty, with rocky and uneven terrain. It is ideal for people used to walking in nature. If you lead an active lifestyle and have good mobility, you will have no problem.
What footwear is required? Mountain boots or trekking shoes with a good sole are mandatory. This is an essential safety requirement. No other type of footwear will be permitted.
What should I bring in my backpack? Water (minimum 1 litre), a snack (fruit, energy bar), sun cream, sunglasses and a warm layer (jacket or windbreaker), even in summer. El Torcal sits at 1,200 m above sea level and the temperature drops as the sun goes down.
What time does the minibus leave and where do we meet? The meeting point is C/ Eguiluz, 7, next to Málaga María Zambrano Bus and Train Station. Please be there 10 minutes before departure. You will receive a confirmation email with the exact location on Google Maps and your guide’s contact number.
I’m travelling alone — can I book? Absolutely! We love welcoming solo travellers. The tour runs with a minimum of 3 participants. If this minimum is not reached, we will let you know in advance and offer a full refund or the option to change the date.
